Project Overview
Let Me Stay is a refined interior restyling project carried out in a traditional British home in Manchester, where a young couple sought to preserve the emotional charm of their grandparents' house while introducing a touch of modern elegance.

The design focused on three key rooms — the living room, dining room, and master bedroom — where I guided the clients through a complete transformation of colors, furniture, and soft finishes, while retaining original architectural features such as boiserie, ceiling moldings, and classic chandeliers.

The design challenge centered on creating color palettes that complemented the original floors and dealt with specific structural details, such as a decorative boiserie mask over curtain rods that the clients wanted to remove. This required a strategic redistribution of tone and contrast throughout the walls, especially in corners and transitional zones.

Client Objectives
The clients wanted a space that felt both familiar and refreshed — not entirely modern, but softened by contemporary accents like warm metallics and curated furnishings. The aim was to bridge the gap between heritage and present, with elegant continuity.

My Role
I led the entire process as sole designer, managing both the visual and practical aspects of the restyling.
Tasks included:

  • Full 3D modelling of the three rooms

  • Creation of multiple color variations and testing them via renderings

  • Furniture selection (both virtual and physical equivalents)

  • Support during product sourcing and purchasing decisions

This project combined visual consultancy with furniture styling, adapting render solutions to match what was feasible and available in the real market.

Key Highlights

  • Preservation and enhancement of original boiserie and crystal chandeliers

  • Balanced introduction of modern furnishings with brass/golden accents

  • Strategic use of color to harmonise with pre-existing floors and architectural features

  • A project grounded in memory, executed with a contemporary eye
